Acrobatics & Display gymnastics Club based in Lanark. The Club has Pre School, recreational, Competitive, Display & High Flyers gymnastics classes running throughout the week.

The club has been running for 8 years.

The Club is mainly Acrobatics Gymnastics but we do cater for younger gymnasts from the age of 3. as gymnasts get oler they can progress through to Recreational classes then onto Junior Acrobatics & Junior Display and then onto Competitive Acrobatics & Senior Display Team.

Acrobatic gymnastics is a competitive partner sport combining the strength, flexibility and technical precision of gymnastics with the grace and musicality of dance as well as the trust and camaraderie of a dedicated partnership. It is a true and testing examination of human relationships. Routines impose on gymnasts a need for strength, agility, flexibility, balance and acrobatic skills. The results are spectacular, intricate balances performed on partners, exciting multiple somersaults and twisting somersaults with partners being pitched and caught. A requirement and opportunity to express their artistry and individual gymnastics skills makes this a delight for spectators, and a tremendous feeling of attainment for gymnasts.

Lanark gymnasts compete mainly at NDP level - this is for beginner level up to intermediate, gymnasts can compete from the age of 7 yrs. the club has some gymnasts at a higher level competing at NDP level 3 and age categories 11-16 (FIG).

All acrobats perform in pairs or groups and must specify a level or be within the above age categories. The events that acrobats perform in are:

• women's pairs (two females);
• men's pairs (two males);
• mixed pairs (a male base and a female top);
• women's groups (three females);
• men's groups/quad (four males).

Each pair or group competes routines individually choreographed for that particular group. These routines are competed to music and the acrobats are required to dance and otherwise perform to this music. Acrobats perform with, on or around each other to demonstrate their flair, grace and style to the judges and audience.

The club also has a Junior & senior Display Team. The senior team, aged between 7 & 25 yrs old have performed at Scottish Gymfest, London Festival of Gymnastics, British Ministrada in Liverpool & the World Gymnaestrada in Austria. The teams displays consist of Acrobatics, Tumble & dance all put into a 8 min routine.

TUESDAYS 3.30 - 5.30PM & SUNDAYS 12- 1.30PM -  (5 YEARS UPWARDS)

JUNIOR & SENIOR DISPLAY TEAMS
SUNDAYS 12-2 pm - JUNIOR                     1-6pm  - SENIORS -(By Trial)

HIGH FLYERS - 1st yr upwards tumble, trampette etc.
Sundays 6PM – 7.15PM ( any fitness level)
